The short answer

If you spend most of your money on groceries and online shopping, the ADCB TouchPoints Platinum (4% groceries) and FAB Cashback Platinum (3% groceries, 3% online) are the two cards to compare first. If dining out or ordering food delivery is your biggest category, Mashreq Cashback wins outright at 5%.

No single card wins every category in UAE — which is exactly the problem Sikka solves.

How we ranked these cards

We evaluated every major UAE credit card by effective AED return rate per category. "Effective rate" means the actual cashback or miles value you receive per AED spent — not the raw earn rate before conversion.

For miles-earning cards, we converted at conservative published redemption values (Emirates Skywards: AED 0.033/mile for economy redemptions).

We excluded: - Cards with annual fees above AED 500 unless the rewards clearly outweigh the fee - Cards with cashback caps so low they're irrelevant at typical UAE spend levels

Top picks by category

Best for groceries: ADCB TouchPoints Platinum — 4%

At Carrefour, Lulu Hypermarket, and Spinneys, ADCB TouchPoints earns 4% back (4 points per AED, each worth AED 0.01). The monthly cap of AED 2,000 eligible spend means the maximum bonus earning is AED 80/month (AED 960/year) — at which point spend above AED 2,000 drops to the everyday 1% rate. Runner-up: FAB Cashback Platinum at 3% (AED 1,500 monthly cap, AED 45/month maximum).

Best for dining: Mashreq Cashback — 5%

The Mashreq Cashback card earns 5% at all dining merchants including Talabat and Deliveroo. At AED 1,000/month dining spend, that's AED 50 back monthly — AED 600/year.

Runner-up: Emirates NBD Skywards Infinite at 3% (miles, not cashback — better only if you fly Emirates regularly).

Best for online shopping: Citi Cashback UAE — 5%

All online purchases (Amazon.ae, Noon, Namshi, Sharaf DG) earn 5% on the Citi Cashback card. The AED 1,000 monthly cap limits usefulness for heavy online shoppers.

Runner-up: FAB Cashback and Mashreq Cashback, both at 3%.

Best for fuel: ADCB TouchPoints Platinum — 2%

At ADNOC and ENOC, ADCB TouchPoints earns 2 points per AED (2% effective). Dubai First Titanium offers 2% on fuel with no specific station restriction.

Best everyday (no-fee): Dubai First Titanium — 1.5%

For a card with no meaningful category restrictions, Dubai First Titanium's 1.5% uncapped everyday rate is the strongest base rate in UAE. No category juggling required.

The catch most reviewers ignore

UAE card rewards come with monthly caps. A card advertising "4% groceries" caps at AED 2,000 eligible spend per month. If your household spends AED 3,000/month at supermarkets, the first AED 2,000 earns 4% (AED 80) and the remaining AED 1,000 drops to 1% (AED 10) — an effective blended rate of 3% rather than 4%.

A second card covering overflow spend closes that gap. Routing AED 1,000 of overflow grocery spend through FAB Cashback (3%) adds AED 30/month — AED 360/year — back to your return. Combined with ADCB TouchPoints on the first AED 2,000, the blended effective rate on AED 3,000 grocery spend rises to 3.67%.

This is the core of what Sikka automates.

Frequently asked questions

Which UAE cashback card has no annual fee?

ADCB Simplylife, Emirates NBD Flex Cash, and Wio Bank Cashback all have no annual fee while still offering cashback across major spend categories.

Is 5% cashback on dining sustainable?

Mashreq Cashback's 5% dining rate has a AED 1,000 monthly cap. Above that, the earn rate drops to 1%. For light to moderate diners, the 5% rate applies to the full monthly budget.

Can I hold multiple UAE cashback cards?

Yes. The highest-returning UAE card setup is typically: one grocery card (ADCB TouchPoints for the 4% rate), one dining card (Mashreq for 5%), and one everyday card (Dubai First Titanium for uncapped 1.5% on everything else).
